WOW!!!! The Country Cousins Are Back Into Blogger!!!

We are so sorry folks that we have not been with-it on our Band Blog. But never fear, we are (now) here!!!
We added a new member to the FL branch of the band when the Millers left. Amanda McAuley is now our bass player. She's done a great job of learning REAL fast, and she's adding a lot. Besides a wonderful bass sound, she's also adding her great sense of humor and and interesting view of things! Never a dull moment when she's around!

We are learning some new songs, and bringing back some of the older ones back into our program. We are also working on some Celtic style songs, and are ever on the lookout for a fun Gospel song to add.

Following are a few pictures from recent various FL and Ozark (Arkansas/Missouri) area performances throughout the year. And, maybe there will be some stories around here too...

For any who are interested: We are playing at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 5 in Zolfo Springs at the Pioneer Park. There may be an entrance fee, we don't know since the entertainment has always been free. :)

Recent Florida Performances

ZOLFO SPRINGS

Here are some pictures from last year's performance at Pioneer Park Festival in Zolfo Springs. We will perform here again on March 5, 2009. Hope to see you there!

We were honored to have Aunt Ashley, who has sung professionally, sing with us here!

"You're the Only Star in my Blue Heaven"
Abby always sings this for her Daddy!
Kitty and RG "workin' their magic" on
Orange Blossom Special

RELAY FOR LIFE

Tuning up for the performance!

EVANS RANCH

We played for a Sunday afternoon Bible Study at the Evans Ranch.

KATHLEEN HISTORICAL SOCIETY
This picture was taken at the Kathleen Historical Society. While there is never a really huge crowd at this event, it is one of my personal favorites. :)

POLK COMMUNITY COLLEGE

This was our first invite to play at the local community college Heritage Festival. There was a large crowd and lots of booths to look at. We saw a lot of people we knew. It was an interesting experience, especially since the temperatures were in the high 90's, and we were in long sleeves, suede skirts, and velvet jackets/vests! (Except Peter, who was in his normal garb. :-D)

Waiting for performance time at the college.

Our coordinaters...

Someday...I will be playing too
(practice... practice... practice!)

Margaret and Rose ready and waiting to sing. "I want to be a Cowboy Sweetheart!"

Here we are enjoying a wonderful lunch after our playing for the day is done! Yuuuuuummmmm!!!!

CHRISTMAS CAROLING!!!

Here we are, along with our church family, Christmas Caroling in a nearby town. :o) We have the luxury of doing that here in FL, where most of the time our fingers won't be too stiff to play outside - even at Christmas. ;)

Ozark Performances

Here we are in Branson MO playing for Mrs. Gladys, our sweet hostess.

Here we have been reunited with the Millers, in Branson. We gathered with some friends and got in some practice at a nice little park.

Our first AR performance, at some friends of the Miller's, the Peterson's. Here you see that the younger cousins have joined in for some singing.

Part of the Country Cousins (the Dischers) won an expense paid trip to Greensboro, North Carolina to perform at the NACAA conference.
This picture was our official "bio" picture!

Here we are on stage - there were a lot of people!
We tried not to be too nervous!
